Mental Health Week: Beginning with the Breath

 

We begin our Mental Health Week by offering you a mindfulness breath practice. The breath is always a home to anchor our attention. The breath can bring awareness to our current experience, body, mind and surroundings. Cultivating this awareness can offer you insight into how you are doing and how you might need to take care of your mental and physical health. Take this time to rest in the breath and nourish yourself:

Alison is a family physician in community practice. She has more than 20 years helping people manage a wide range of mental health and stress-based illness in a primary care setting.  She has a longstanding mindfulness practice and has completed training in CBT and MBSR. She is presently enrolled in the MBCT facilitation certificate through The Centre for Mindfulness Studies.
