Join us on Wednesday, October 25 as renowned mindfulness expert Mark Williams speaks in person about effective ways to champion mental health practices in our daily lives. Professor Williams is the creator of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and will share his vast knowledge on mindfulness techniques and principles.
Not only will the evening be informative, but the event will help raise funds for the Centre of Mindfulness Studies. Proceeds and fundraising efforts will help us achieve our goals of making mindfulness and mental help support accessible to people from underserved communities. So your efforts will help contribute to making direct, real, and tangible differences in the lives of others.
Be sure to register for the event, it is not one to miss out on!
Description of the Talk:
There are moments in life that decide your fate. They ripple into the future and dictate how you experience the world in the moments that follow; either positive and uplifting, dark and chaotic, or flat and dull.
What if you could recognize these moments before they seized control of your life? What if you could use them to set sail for a better future? What if all moments, big and small, could be harnessed this way?
Mindfulness is used by millions of people across the world, and has been proven effective at treating anxiety, pain, and depression, and enhancing well-being even in the midst of the chaos of daily life.
In this talk, Oxford Professor Mark Williams reveals how the latest advances in neuroscience, combined with the millennia-old practice of mindfulness, offers a way to transform your life; a new way forward for those struggling with stress and depression.
