This is the fourth module of our MBCT Facilitation Certificate Program

This practicum will immerse participants in the 8-week MBCT program as participants, facilitators and observers. Trainees will take on a variety of roles including teaching, providing and receiving feedback and developing skills of inquiry. Readings and home practice will be an essential part of the program. Relevant background will be provided in the areas of mindfulness, clinical research and CBT.

Participants Will Learn
• Ways to deliver the 8-week MBCT program in a systematic manner
• To engage in teach-backs to help hone their skills
• How to receive feedback to enhance their guidance and inquiry skills
• The underlying intentions, attitudes and attentional training skills developed in the practices/exercises
• To hold the group using the MBCT model

Who Should Attend
This course is intended for clinicians interested in deepening their understanding of MBCT and developing some foundational skills to facilitate MBCT. It is best suited for clinicians who have experience with meditative practices and who have attended an 8-week MBCT. It is also recommended for those who have taken the MBCT Intensive Training & Retreat

What To Expect
This training will be an intensive version of our 10-week practicum. You can expect to be immersed in the 8-week MBCT program. The course will follow a concentrated schedule, starting at 9:00am and ending at 5:30pm each day with an hour and a half for lunch that will entail some readings and work.

If you have not already been accepted into the Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Facilitation Certificate Program, please submit a completed Professional Development Application Form and wait to hear back from the Centre before registering.

Accreditation
This course has been accredited for up to 25 Mainpro-C credits through the College of Family Physicians of Canada. It has also been approved for 2 Lifestyle & 8 General Continuing Education credits by the BDDT-N for naturopathic doctors.
